Most people buy grooming tools one at a time, and usually too late. The coat is already matted, the nails are already long enough to change how the dog walks, and you are ordering in a hurry.
This is the other approach. Seven pieces covering routine care, in one box, so the job stays small enough to do on a Sunday afternoon.
What is in the box
-
Self-cleaning slicker brush. For loose undercoat and light tangles. Press the button and the hair lifts off.
-
Flea comb. Fine teeth for checking the coat and pulling out what should not be there.
-
Nail clippers. For regular trims, before the nails get long enough to affect how your pet walks.
-
Nail file. Smooths the edges after clipping so nothing catches on furniture.
-
Shampoo bath brush. Works lather down to the skin during a wash.
-
Two finger toothbrushes. Dental care is the part most owners skip, and the part a vet brings up first.
Who it suits
New owners who do not yet know what they need, and anyone tired of buying a separate tool every time a different problem shows up. It also makes a straightforward gift for someone who has just got a dog or a cat.
Before you buy
These are tools for routine home grooming. They are not a substitute for a professional groomer on a severely matted coat.
Go slowly with the nails. Trim a little at a time and stop well short of the quick. If your pet has dark nails and you cannot see it, take off less than you think you should.
